If your current vacuum isn’t up to par, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days could be the perfect time to invest in a new one. It’s the first day of the October sales event, so now’s your chance to take advantage of these bargains, whether you’re looking for a hands-off robot vacuum or robot vacuum-mop combo, a lightweight stick vacuum, or a heavy-duty upright or canister vacuum. There’s also plenty of sales on steam mops and carpet cleaners.
We take into consideration a variety of factors when highlighting vacuum sales. They include a model’s performance in CR’s tests, its predicted reliability based on data from our member surveys, and the size of the discount compared with the original list price and the current “street price” (that is, the typical cost of the product). Several of our top-rated vacuums are currently selling at the lowest prices we’ve seen in months, including great deals on cordless stick vacuums and robot vacuums.
Cordless Stick Vacuums
This is the best price we’ve seen on the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Lite VS80F28DMP/AA this year, making this a deal worth checking out. It’s a perfect vacuum for pet owners—not only did we find it excellent at vacuuming up pet hair, but it’s also great at keeping allergens and dust from leaking out of the vacuum’s exhaust.
If you don’t have much carpet at home, the Levoit LVAC-300 is a good choice for a stick vacuum. While its cleaning performance on carpet leaves something to be desired, it earns top marks in all of our other cleaning tests, including vacuuming bare floors, cleaning the corners and edges of a room, and removing pet hair. It has a pretty good run time, averaging around 36 minutes—one of the longest among the cordless sticks we recommend. The model’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen this year.
We appreciate the Bosch Unlimited 10 BCS1041TUC’s convenient features, especially its bendable tube, which makes it easier to clean under furniture, and its relatively long battery life. It’s a strong cleaner and can pick up debris when moving both forward and backward, unlike other vacuums that typically pick up debris only when pushed forward.
We like the Shark Vertex Pro IZ662H’s many features. The wand can be bent to reach underneath furniture, and the vacuum itself folds for more compact storage. The vacuum is a strong cleaner, though it’s not as impressive on carpet as it is on bare floors. Its battery run time is relatively long, so you don’t have to worry as much as some other vacuums that the Shark will die on you while you’re in the middle of cleaning. The price for this vacuum is the lowest we’ve seen this year.
The Miele Duoflex scores well in nearly all of our cleaning tests. It’s excellent at cleaning debris from bare floors as well as picking up pet hair. It’s only so-so at vacuuming dirt from carpets, but that’s not uncommon for stick vacs, which aren’t as powerful as uprights. What stands out the most about this model is how easy it is to use; we like how simple it is to remove the vacuum’s dustbin and clean its filter.
The flexibility of the Miele Triflex HX2 is one of the things we enjoy the most about it. You can adjust the placement of the bin to either the top or bottom of the vacuum depending on the areas you’re cleaning in your home. You can also convert it into a hand vacuum. The vacuum is quiet and boasts exceptionally strong cleaning performance in our bare floors, edges, and pet hair tests.
Robotic Vacuums
Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
The Bissell FlexClean FurForce 4270L is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to both vacuuming and mopping functions. However, compared to some other robot vacuum-and-mop combos we’ve tested, it lacks certain amenities. The base automatically empties the device’s dustbin, but you’ll need to clean the device’s mopping pads and refill the robot with cleaning formula yourself. Its current price matches the lowest price we’ve seen this model sell for this year.
The Mova P10 Pro Ultra Gen2 is excellent at vacuuming, impressing us with its ability to clean carpets, an area that other robot vacuum-and-mop combos might struggle with. While it’s not as good at mopping as it is at vacuuming, it’s still fairly decent. The model comes with a base that automatically empties the vacuum dustbin, cleans and dries the mopping pads, and refills the mop reservoir with cleaning solution. The price we’re seeing right now matches the Prime Day discount we saw earlier in June.
Steam Mops
It’s hard to find fault with the Tineco Floor One S5, which does an outstanding job of cleaning stains off of ceramic tiles. It’s both a vacuum that can handle wet and dry messes and a steam mop. Especially handy is the self-cleaning function that automatically washes the brush roll. Its current price matches the lowest price we see this model typically sell for.
Bissell Power Steamer 2685A
The Bissell Power Steamer 2685A is an impressive cleaner that comes with convenient features, such as an extension wand that allows you to reach higher, less accessible places and tools for steaming fabric, cleaning grout, and cleaning windows. It’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen all year, making it a sizable discount.
The Steam & Go Housekeeper 10-in-1 SAG806D does a bang-up job at cleaning stains off tile floors in our tests. It has a fairly long run time and comes with many convenient tools, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, and carpets. We’ve seen it sell at this price before, so while it’s a good discount, you’re likely going to be able to buy the steam mop at a similar price on Black Friday.
Upright Vacuums
The Shark Stratos AZ3002 is good for any home that has a mixture of carpets and bare floors, especially if it’s also home to a pet. It does a solid job cleaning carpets and an excellent job on bare floors. The lift-away feature that allows it to be used like a canister is another bonus. It’s currently selling at $30 less than its typical price, making this a nice discount.
If you’re a pet owner, take notice: the Shark Vertex DuoClean AZ2002 picks up pet hair especially well and has exceptional suction power. It also has a lift-away canister, which makes cleaning hard-to-reach places easier. The self-cleaning brush roll prevents pet hair (and any long hair) from wrapping around it and getting tangled in the vacuum. Right now, this is selling at the lowest price we’ve seen since June’s Prime Day discounts.
If you’re looking for a bagged upright, the Kenmore Intuition BU4050 is a very good option, and it’s selling at the lowest price we’ve seen this year. It’s impressive at cleaning debris off hardwood, laminate, and other bare, uncarpeted floors, though it’s only so-so at vacuuming carpets. The vacuum can be converted into a smaller, more lightweight canister that you carry with you when you vacuum stairs.
Canister Vacuums
The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is pricey, but at $150 off its average price, it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a canister. It’s a great vacuum to have if you have allergies or asthma because it doesn’t release debris into the air as you’re cleaning it up from the floor. It also earns strong marks for vacuuming pet hair, making it a good choice for pet owners.
The Eureka WhirlWind XL NEN186BL is a budget-friendly pick—and it’s currently selling at the lowest price we’ve seen this year. While its cleaning performance on carpet is only so-so, it’s more impressive at cleaning debris off bare floors such as hardwood and vinyl. At around 16 pounds, it’s also one of the lightest canisters that score well in our tests.
Corded Stick Vacuums
The Bissell PowerClean FurFinder 4282K is currently selling for $50 less than its lowest price this year, making it a deal worth seizing now. It’s decent at cleaning carpets and excellent at vacuuming bare, uncarpeted floors. The model comes with plenty of conveniences, such as a self-standing feature and headlights that illuminate messes on the floor you might have missed.
The Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 does an admirable job of cleaning bare floors and does almost as well on carpet. It features an auto-detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed to the surface, transitioning efficiently between the two. It can be pulled apart for compact storage, allowing it to stand on its own and take up minimal space. This model even delivers powerful suction in reverse for more efficient cleaning in both a forward and backward motion. We’ve seen it sell at lower prices this year, but this is still a pretty good discount.
Handheld Vacuums
The best thing about the Shark PowerBoost BH102 is its run time—averaging 24 minutes, it’s one of the longest among the handheld vacs we tested. It’s very good at cleaning carpets and pet hair, though it’s not as strong at cleaning tight spaces and crevices. We like its convenience, including how easy it is to empty its dustbin.
If you’re looking for a handheld vacuum that can really clean tight, hard-to-reach corners, the Black+Decker Max+ DustBuster AdvancedClean+ HHVK515J00 is the one to get. It excels in our crevice-cleaning tests and is also impressive at picking up debris from bare, uncarpeted floors. It has a pretty good average run time of 23 minutes and comes with a dustbin that’s larger than most of the other handheld vacs we tried. This current discount is the best we’ve seen this year.
The Dyson Car+Boat 586119-01 is pricier than the other handheld vacuums we test, but its 24-minute run time is impressive. It’s a strong cleaner, especially with pet hair. (Though it’s not as effective as some other handhelds at sucking up debris from smaller crevices.) We love that this handheld vacuum comes with a pistol grip, which means less strain on your wrist. The current price is the lowest this vacuum usually sells for when discounted.
As long as you don’t mind the noise, the Black+Decker DustBuster CHV1410L is a hand vac worth considering for its cleaning power. It’s good at removing debris from bare floors and carpets, despite not having a power brush attachment. And this price is the lowest this vacuum has sold for this year.
Carpet Cleaners
The Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Pro Plus 3588F is selling at its lowest price this year, making it a deal worth seizing. Not only does this make short work of dirt and stains, but it’s also very good at removing moisture from carpets after cleaning them. It’s relatively lightweight compared to some of the other carpet cleaners we’ve tested (weighing 28 pounds when full) and comes with a pet upholstery tool and a tough stain tool.
