Anti-Static Sprays

Bounce Instant Static Remover+

Bounce Instant Static Remover+

This anti-static spray aced our static test. It did a good job at removing static electricity from toddler socks and microfiber cloths. Note, however, that the scent is quite strong. It’s discounted 15 percent.

Static Guard Spray (pack of 3)

Static Guard Spray (pack of 3)

This basic static spray comes in an easy-to-use aerosol can. It has a light, albeit artificial, smell that’s unlikely to be noticeable to anyone a few moments after spraying. Use sparingly, as aerosols can emit olatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Caulk

DAP Kwik Seal Kitchen & Bath Adhesive Caulk

DAP Kwik Seal Kitchen & Bath Adhesive Caulk

The best feature about this caulk is that it does not require a caulk gun to dispense. In our tests, it had the second-best adhesion on painted wood and worked just as well after being exposed to extreme cold and hot temperatures.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Wipes

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes

These wipes required an extra swipe to remove jam from a stovetop and their smell is very strong. That being said, they cleaned up sriracha well, and were easy to remove from its packaging.

Method All-Purpose Cleaning Wipes

Method All-Purpose Cleaning Wipes

These thick wipes were among our favorites. Not only did they clean all surfaces well, but they were drier than most wipes, so there’s no waiting for your surfaces to dry. They feature a pleasant, pink grapefruit scent.

Concentrated Cleaners

Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner, 2X Concentrated Formula

Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner, 2X Concentrated Formula

This classic, bright, concentrated cleaner can be used on most home surfaces. In our tests, it was especially good at lifting dirt from floors. It’s strongly scented, but if you’re looking for a bargain, it’s a solid buy, especially at 25% off.

Dish Soap

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Dish Soap

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Dish Soap

This dish soap produced rich suds and had an elevated, herbal scent like no other we tested. It is also available in an easy-to-dispense 16-ounce bottle.

Palmolive Ultra Dish Oxy Power

Palmolive Ultra Dish Oxy Power

The long-lasting suds produced by this dish soap left all our dishes clean with little effort. It’s mildly scented, easy to dispense, and didn’t leave dishes smelling like the dish soap post-wash. The formula left our hands feeling a little bit dry.

Fabric Deodorizers

Zorbx Odor Remover

Zorbx Odor Remover

This was the only fabric deodorizer that helped rid fabrics of a strong, unpleasant onion odor in our lab. It’s unscented, so it doesn’t just mask odors, but eliminates them. It also did not stain any of the materials we used in testing.

Glass Cleaners

Windex Original Glass Cleaner

Windex Original Glass Cleaner

This well-known glass cleaner left mirrors, windows, stovetops, and glass shower doors absolutely flawless in our testing. It is made with ammonia, so avoid using it on tinted windows or other surfaces that may be damaged.

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Glass Cleaner

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Glass Cleaner

If you’re looking for elevated scents in your household cleaners, this glass cleaner from Mrs.Meyer’s fits the bill. It also performed well in our tests, leaving minimal streaks on mirrors and windows.

Windex Fast Shine Foam Glass Cleaner

Windex Fast Shine Foam Glass Cleaner

This foaming glass cleaner delivers a mess-free cleaning experience with the powerful cleaning you expect from Windex. Use it to clean glass, ceramic tiles, countertops, and even appliances.

Laundry Detergent, Pods, and Sheets

Persil Free & Sensitive Liquid Laundry Detergent

Persil Free & Sensitive Liquid Laundry Detergent

Persil Sensitive liquid laundry detergent is a Green Choice product, meaning it has a lower environmental and health impact due to its ingredients, certifications, and recyclable packaging. In our tests, it excelled at removing chocolate stains from fabrics. It also handled body oil, dirt, and blood very well.

Tide Plus Ultra Oxi with Odor Eliminators Power Pods

Tide Plus Ultra Oxi with Odor Eliminators Power Pods

These pods from Tide have extra odor-eliminating ingredients that help remove stubborn smells from clothing. They worked really well at eliminating most stains in our lab tests, including dirt and salad dressing.

Multipurpose Cleaners

Mrs. Meyer's Multisurface Everyday Cleaner

Mrs. Meyer's Multisurface Everyday Cleaner

Mrs.Meyer’s Multisurface Everyday Cleaner worked well to clean up light-to-moderate messes in our testing. Its scent is light and pleasant. Our tester found that oily and greasy messes required more effort to clean than with some other multipurpose cleaners tested.

Presto All Purpose Cleaner

Presto All Purpose Cleaner

This cleaner works quickly—perhaps because it sprays more product than other bottles in our evaluations, particularly at removing grease from a stovetop. It does have a strong lemon scent, however, and isn’t the best option for stainless steel.

Powder Cleansers

Bon Ami Scratch-Free Powder Cleanser

Bon Ami Scratch-Free Powder Cleanser

This powder cleaned stainless steel sinks beautifully, and was able to erase scratch marks on ceramic plates well. All but one of its ingredients are included in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safer Chemical Ingredients List (the only powder cleanser in our evaluations to boast this).

Quart Bags

Ziploc Storage Quart Bags

Ziploc Storage Quart Bags

Although hard to close, these are very sturdy quart bags, and make a great option for parents with toddlers who have a penchant for throwing their snacks. We love their stand-up bottom, which makes it easier to add foods without making a mess. These are perfect for food prep and leftovers.

GreeneWrap Compostable Zip Quart Bags

GreeneWrap Compostable Zip Quart Bags

If a quart bag can be luxurious, these compostable ones might earn that accolade. They’re made of thick, semi-opaque green compostable plastic with clearly marked label areas (and a calendar!) for easy storage.

Toilet Paper

Charmin Ultra Soft Forever Roll (Starter Kit)

Charmin Ultra Soft Forever Roll (Starter Kit)

This giant roll of Charmin toilet paper looks like a joke, but its performance in our tests was anything but. It’s easy to tear, abrasion-resistant, and very strong. Due to its size, it will not fit on most standard toilet paper holders.

Quilted Northern Ultra Plush

Quilted Northern Ultra Plush

This toilet paper is three-ply, extra thick, and is the strongest we tested. It’s linty, though (like most thick TPs) and isn’t great for septic systems or other sensitive plumbing situations.

Reel Bamboo Toilet Paper

Reel Bamboo Toilet Paper

This bamboo TP was a top performer in our tests. It isn’t, however, extremely soft. Each roll is individually wrapped.

Cottonelle Ultra Clean

Plush but linty, this toilet paper has great abrasion resistance, so shouldn’t unpleasantly rip during use. It’s not great for septic systems, though.
