Making healthy choices extends beyond what you eat. There are many ways to enhance other aspects of your life if you are striving to lead a healthier life. The most obvious would be to invest in your physical health with a new treadmill or rowing machine for your home gym, or even a smartwatch. But you can also create a healthier home environment. Using an air purifier to remove dust and pollen from the air can be a good start. A humidifier may help you breathe better during the dry winter months, especially while you sleep. And when it comes to food, it’s not just what you put in your body, but how you prepare it. So investing in cookware that can help you avoid PFAS would also be helpful.
If you don’t already have these items, or the ones you do are getting old, you may want to consider investing in some of them. And because many of us are cost-conscious amid tariffs and inflation, I’ve rounded up the best deals on everything you might need for a healthier home and life. I don’t just look at the price tag, either. I weigh the discounts against the quality of each product, based on how it has performed in our lab tests and at-home evaluations, to help you spend more wisely and avoid buying something that doesn’t work as well as you want.

Air Purifiers
The HoMedics AP-T200 has impressive performance and an attractive design, similar to the AP-C500. It performs impressively on both high and low speeds and is easy to use. Just expect a fair amount of noise while it’s running. The major difference—this model is designed for midsized rooms of 150 to 350 square feet, so it’s smaller in size and has a smaller price tag. It originally sold for $300 and is often available for $250, making Amazon’s price a rather impressive discount.
The Blueair Blue Pure 311i Max Air Purifier features an indicator light to alert you when you need to change or clean the filter. It also has a dirt sensor and four speeds. On its higher setting, it’s terrific at removing dust, pollen, and smoke, but expect a bit of noise. It’s easy to use, and is designed for use in a large space of 350 to 650 square feet. CR members find Blueair air purifiers to be highly reliable, and they’re very satisfied with their purchases.
The portable Blue Pure 211i Max does a terrific job removing dust, pollen, and smoke on its higher setting, but expect a bit of noise. Try it on low, and you’ll have more quiet while still experiencing top-notch results. This model is designed for use in a large space of 350 to 650 square feet and costs about $109 a year to maintain. It also weighs just 17 pounds, making it easy to move around. While we’ve seen this model selling for less in recent months, it’s still a nice discount.
A portable purifier that keeps your air clean and matches your midcentury modern design aesthetic—yes, please. The HoMedics AP-C500 is a large-room air purifier at a budget-friendly price (and an additional 20 percent off coupon makes this deal even friendlier). It performs impressively on both high and low speeds and is easy to use. Just expect a fair amount of noise while it’s running. It is no longer listed as a sale at Home Depot, which means it’s likely going to stay at this low price, so there’s no urgency to buy.
At 50 pounds, the Coway Airmega ProX air purifier is quite heavy, but it also delivers high-quality performance. On both higher and lower speeds, this model excels at clearing rooms of dust, pollen, and smoke. And it scores well when it comes to noise. It accommodates indoor spaces up to a whopping 2,126 square feet. But the ProX’s top-tier performance comes at a hefty price (even on sale), plus about $247 annually, according to our estimates. The ProX features three speeds, a filter indicator, and a dirt sensor. In our surveys, CR members say they’re highly satisfied with their Coway air purifiers. The brand earns top marks for predicted reliability, too.
It’s worth noting that the list price for this model in July 2025 was $799, and it was on sale for $640. It doesn’t seem likely that the price will drop that low again anytime soon, however.
Humidifiers
The low-priced, ultrasonic Levoit Classic 300S can humidify a room of up to 505 square feet, which earns it a solid rating in our output test. It aces other evaluations too. It has a variety of features, including automatic shutoff, a more accurate digital humidity display than most competitors have, and the option to diffuse aromas. And now it’s back down to the lowest price we saw in 2025.
This humidifier, rated for small rooms, is a fantastic balance of quality and price. It’s a top-rated model; it handled every one of our tests with ease, and it has an indicator when the water level is low, so it’s easy to know when you need to add more (and it shuts off automatically if you don’t get there in time). With perfect scores across the board and a price under $50, it’s a no-brainer.
Exercise Equipment
The highly rated Horizon Fitness 7.4AT is a folding treadmill with a reading shelf and quick control dials to rapidly change speed or incline. It has excellent ratings in all tests except ease of use and user safety, where it still earns very good scores. It comes with a heart rate monitor to connect directly to training programs and has built-in speakers and Bluetooth connectivity.
The high-end Hydrow Rower uses a quiet electromagnetic resistance system and tracks all standard metrics that rowers use to measure progress—from stroke rate to split time. This machine earns top marks across all CR’s tests. It also has a 22-inch high-definition screen that can be used to access Hydrow’s live and on-demand fitness classes. As with other high-end machines, those are subscription-based—$44 per month—and include access to many types of workouts, not just rowing. It’s $100 more than the sale price at the beginning of the month, so it’s not the best deal we’ve seen. But if you’re in the market, a $300 discount is still decent.
This highly rated Horizon 7.0 lC earned great marks in our tests for adjustability, noise, and capacity, and its warranty. While it doesn’t offer built-in connectivity, it does offer Bluetooth capabilities that allow you to pair the bike to your tablet or smartphone and sync with workouts provided by third-party exercise subscription services such as Peloton.
If you want a way to do cardio at home, exercising on an elliptical gets you an aerobic workout without the impact that comes with running. The Air Glide 14i is at a decent discount right now, and it’s CR Recommended for its above-average performance in our lab tests. This model got exemplary scores in our tests for construction, ease of use, and user safety. It’s also above average when it comes to ergonomics. It did fall short in terms of heart rate accuracy, but you can always wear a smartwatch or fitness tracker for more accurate readings if you want to track that.
Personal Massagers
Renpho R3 Massage Gun
The Renpho R3 massage gun might be the best all-around device for most average users because it’s small, lightweight, and quieter than other devices. But it’s not the ideal choice for people who want the most intense massage or the best model to massage areas on the back. The pistol grip could add some more postural stress than other devices, though its light weight and small form could help alleviate stress for some. As a bonus, this can be charged with a standard USB-C charging cable. It typically sells for $90, so you’re really saving about $20.
Toloco EM26 Massage Gun
This massage gun is pretty much always this price. It rarely goes on sale for less and almost never costs more, but it’s a great value, so I keep it on this list for those looking for a low-cost massage gun (I own one and it’s perfect for an occasional user). It offers a weaker massage than other devices we evaluated, though it may still be enough for some users—and it’s pretty quiet as a result. The interface on this device can be cumbersome. While it comes with 10 attachments and a case, the attachments often get jumbled up inside the case, making it annoying to fit the massage gun in. This device charges via a USB-C cable.
Smartwatches and Fitness Trackers
The Amazfit Active is a solid fitness tracker, especially at this price. It’s easy to use, with a claimed battery life of around 16 hours. Even better, it excels at counting steps and tracking fitness activities, which is, after all, one of the main goals of a fitness tracker.
The Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch sits near the top of our Smartwatch and Fitness tracker ratings, and with good cause: It earns strong marks across the board in our lab tests, including excellent scores for ease of use and step-count performance. The Balance 2 features sleep-tracking capability and a longer battery life than most at 18.6 days.
This rugged-looking (and high-performing) Samsung smartwatch is aimed at outdoors enthusiasts—and anyone who wants the latest premium health- and fitness-tracking features. Just note that Galaxy Watches work only with Android devices. The price has been falling steadily since the summer.
Cookware
CR’s scientists have found that even nonstick pans labeled as being “PFOA free” may still contain some of that compound and other PFAS, which are linked to health risks. But there are plenty of nonstick alternatives that are more likely to be free of worrisome forever chemicals, including stainless steel, ceramic-coated, and enamel-coated pots and pans.
The budget-friendly GreenPan Reserve Ceramic Nonstick is a 10-piece set with two frying pans, two saucepans, a sauté pan, a stockpot, and four lids. It receives top scores for all our major cooking tasks, including an excellent rating for speed of heating. Its handles are sturdy and stay fairly cool to the touch. The nonstick coating is durable, although some other nonstick pans we tested did better in that assessment.
Depending on the color, you can score a nice discount on this set at Amazon right now (only the white version is at its full price).
The Caraway Ceramic-Coated Cookware Set comes with 14 pieces, but only half are pots or lids. The rest are various racks, hooks, and other things you might not want or have space for. That said, this set excels in all four of our key cooking tests: cooking evenness, simmering, nonstick food release, and speed of heating. It also shows very good performance in our nonstick durability tests, though some other sets did better.
Air Fryers
Dash may not have the same name recognition as Ninja or Cuisinart, but the 2.6-quart Dash Tasti-Crisp Ceramic DCAF26CM air fryer earns solid scores in CR’s tests and comes at a sale price that’s better than we’ve seen so far for this model. With food contact surfaces made of nonstick ceramic, it earns top marks for ease of cleaning even though it’s not dishwasher safe. We found it runs more quietly than many other air fryer models to boot. The DCAF26CM has a small footprint, making it a smart choice for a dorm room or for those with limited counter space.
The Chefman RJ38-2T not only earns our recommendation but also carries CR’s Green Choice designation, meaning it has less of an environmental impact than other air fryers, based on its design, energy usage, and other factors. This air fryer receives top scores for its ease of cleaning and noise, and a very good score for ease of use, which reflects how easy it is to set your desired time and temperature.
Indoor Motion-Sensing Lights
Lightbiz Cabinet Rechargeable Puck Light with Remote
A healthy home is a safe home, and motion-sensing lights can make it easier to move through your halls in the middle of the night or on those extra-early mornings. These lights cover the basics, offering manual override and adjustable brightness. But the smooth dimmer button and lower-contrast text make it slightly less ideal for low-vision users.
Home Security Systems
SimpliSafe Home Security System
In our survey-based owner satisfaction ratings of home security systems, SimpliSafe scores well both as a professionally monitored system and a self-monitored system. Our members report that SimpliSafe provides good value for the money, transparent prices, and great tech support.
This system recently dropped another $20, making it a full $100 off and a steal of a deal.
