While Walmart’s annual summer sale officially ended June 28, there are still plenty of discounts available, especially with the July Fourth weekend on the horizon. At CR, a great bargain is the combination of a product’s quality and the size of its discount. We compare the price to what it usually costs, too—not just to the listed original price.

Whether you’re a Walmart+ member or want to order something to pick up in-store that day, Walmart can be a boon for savings compared to other retailers with similar deals. We’re even seeing some nice deals on refurbished products, including Apple iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and Watches. You can purchase an iPhone 15 for just $387, an Apple Watch Series 11 (42mm) for $260, or a 13-inch MacBook Air for $249.

No matter where you shop, it can be difficult to tell whether something listed as a sale is actually a good discount or just the same price it always is. That’s where our work comes in. Since Consumer Reports tracks prices on everything we test, we can look at Walmart’s offerings to tell you whether a product is worth picking up or passing by.

In addition to the Walmart Deals sale, CR will track and sort through all the offers at Best Buy, Home Depot, and Lowe’s to find the best prices on products that have scored well in our tests. For the latest and greatest sales on highly rated products, check CR’s Deals Hub.

Beauty Tools

The Shark SpeedStyle Pro Flex, now at the best price we’ve ever seen, competes with the highly sought-after Dyson models, but at more than half the price. Like the Dyson models, our testers liked how easily the attachments snapped onto the hair dryer, and how you can rotate them without removing them. Its airflow is so strong that when turned on, it has a kickback.

It has another high-end feature: its IQ Speed Styling & Drying Suite automatically adjusts heat and speed depending on the attachment. The attachments are unique and feature-rich, including the Frizzfighter, which is helpful in making sleek bangs (and flyaways). The diffuser features different prong lengths depending on hair type, and its brush attachment includes boar bristles. Its highest temperature reading in our tests was 115° F.

Headphones

If you want the low-profile fit of earbuds, but don’t like the way they plug up your ears, the Bose Ultra Opens represent a unique alternative. They hook on your ear, just above the lobe, a bit like a cuff-style earring. Our testers say they sound surprisingly good, too, once you get the placement just right. And, with nothing in your ears, it’s easy to hear the things around you with a clarity that the transparency mode of most earbuds can’t match.

There’s a lot to like about this over-the-ear, noise-canceling headphone. It sits second in Bose’s lineup but performs a lot like the top-of-the-line QuietComfort Ultra. The model provides sound quality that’s pleasant if not quite up to the very best headphones in this category, but the noise cancellation, as is typical of Bose, is truly superb. Since Bose devices don’t routinely receive big discounts, this deal is well worth a look.

Kitchen Products

Ogednac Electric Salt and Pepper Grinder Set

Ogednac Electric Salt and Pepper Grinder Set

The Ogednac Electric Salt and Pepper Grinder Set is less powerful than many of the other grinders we tried, with a 20-second lag between starting the mill and dispensing the product. The grind is very smooth, and the finest setting creates fine powder. It’s also quiet and easy to handle, especially for kids. And the LED lights show how charged the battery is and illuminate where the salt and pepper landed. But it’s hard to clean because the reservoir doesn’t detach from the mill.

KitchenAid Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine

KitchenAid Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine

We found the KitchenAid Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine impressively well-built, especially given its budget-friendly price. It may take some getting used to for beginners, but we found that it produced reliably good espresso shots. This model comes with numerous accessories, including a milk jug for steaming (the only model we evaluated that offered this).

Home Goods

Candle Warmer

Fimilo Candle Warmer Lamp

Fimilo Candle Warmer Lamp

If you’re a fan of features, this lamp is for you. It’s got four different brightness settings and different color choices, and you can set three timer shut-offs for 2, 4, and 8 hours. The lamp height is adjustable, but our tester found the base to be a bit unwieldy, so it may not fit every candle. Its metal material also made spilled wax a little annoying to clean.

The HoMedics AP-T200 has impressive performance and an attractive design. It works well on both high and low speeds and is easy to use, though it’s also a bit noisy. The major difference—this model is designed for medium rooms of 150 to 350 square feet, so it’s smaller in size with a smaller price.

This was about $10 less last week.

The petite Clorox 11020 effectively cleans your room’s air of harmful particles, whether at a high or low setting. It can perch on a tabletop or be set on the floor and doesn’t get too noisy. It does lack certain conveniences, though, like app pairing and an auto mode, but otherwise it’s a nice fit for a small space (up to 150 square feet).

This humidifier is a fantastic balance of quality and price for small rooms. It’s a top-rated model; it handled every one of our tests with ease, and it has a low-water indicator so you know when to add more (and it shuts off automatically if you don’t get there in time). With great scores and a price under $50, it’s a no-brainer.

Vacuums

The Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 does an admirable job of cleaning bare floors and does almost as well on carpet. It features an auto-detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed to the surface, transitioning efficiently between the two. It can be pulled apart for compact storage, allowing it to stand on its own and take up minimal space. This model even delivers powerful suction in reverse for more efficient cleaning in both a forward and backward motion. We’ve seen it sell at lower prices this year, but this is still a pretty good discount.

This Kenmore 200 Series 81214 performs quite well in CR cleaning tests, with strong cleaning scores for carpet, bare floors, and pet hair, as well as strong suction. Negatives? Handling and noise. Differences from the 400 Series: the on/off switch is on the body, it has a different type of suction control, and there’s no telescopic wand.

The Shark PowerDetect IP1251 comes with lots of bells and whistles, including a dirt detection feature and a floor detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed based on the surface it’s vacuuming. It’s very good at sucking up debris from carpets and picking up pet hair. The vacuum can be converted into a hand vac and folded for storage.

This pricy vac was on sale at several retailers last week, but Walmart is the only one still offering this low price.

For those looking for a vacuum that cleans carpets well, the bagless Shark Navigator Professional NV360 sucks up dirt and pet hair from carpets better than any other upright vacuum. One of our favorite features of this model is its lift-away functionality. You can detach the vacuum "pod" to make cleaning stairs and the spaces under your furniture easier. As a brand, Shark vacuums get solid ratings in reliability and top-mark scores in owner satisfaction based on our member surveys. It was $20 less for Memorial Day, so it may drop in price later this week.

At 8.1 pounds, the Shark Ultralight PetPro HZ702 is extremely light. It’s outstanding at picking up pet hair, cleaning edges and bare floors—though it does less well vacuuming debris from carpet. One impressive feature is that the vacuum’s top can be detached and attached to the bottom for easy storage. It also comes with an odor neutralizer to prevent bad smells from developing in the machine.

TVs

The Samsung QN55S85F is the company’s entry-level QD-OLED TV from 2025, and it performs very well in our tests for both picture quality and HDR. It also has satisfying sound. Like other Samsung OLED TVs, it supports HDR10+ but not Dolby Vision HDR, and its Tizen smart TV platform includes both Bixby and Alexa voice assistants.

Smart Home

The latest Google Nest Cam (Battery) is a strong performer in our tests, offering terrific video quality, strong data security, and fast response times. It’s also one of few security cameras to give you monitoring zones, object recognition (of people, packages, animals, and vehicles), and three free hours of cloud video storage without a monthly subscription. The doorbell also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice and app control. Cloud video storage and additional features (such as facial recognition) require a Google Nest Aware subscription.

The Google Nest Cam with Floodlight is $65 less than it was for Memorial Day. It offers impeccable video quality, strong data security, and speedy response times. Its features include activity zones to control what areas in front of the camera trigger recording, app/voice control (via Amazon Alexa, Google Home/Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings), and free object detection for people, animals, and vehicles. That last feature is a big deal because most competitors charge you a subscription for it. Cloud video storage and additional features require a Nest Aware subscription.

Smartwatches & Fitness Trackers

The Versa 4 is a great fit for Fitbit fans who want a sleeker-looking smartwatch. You get a good-sized display and all the basics, from GPS-enabled workout tracking to heart rate monitoring. Plus, the battery lasted a generous period of time in CR’s testing.

If what you want is a slim, reliable fitness tracker that keeps tabs on the basics—like your sleep, step count, and heart rate—the Fitbit Inspire 3 is a good buy at this price. It also has a convenient 10-day claimed battery life.

The Fitbit Charge line has always featured great general-purpose trackers, and the Charge 6 is no exception. It’s sleek, with a 1.1-inch full-color display, making it suitable for the gym and the office. And some of its health-tracking features—like stress monitoring and an ECG (electrocardiogram) function that can alert you to irregular heart rhythms—are more on a par with a smartwatch. The Charge 6 earns excellent test scores in key categories and has more precise heart rate monitoring than its predecessor, the Charge 5. Claimed battery life for the Fitbit Charge 6 is seven days.

This rugged-looking (and high-performing) Samsung smartwatch is aimed at outdoors enthusiasts—and anyone who wants the absolute best of Samsung’s health- and fitness-tracking features. You get basics like sleep, workout, and heart-rate tracking, as well as more advanced features that give you insights into stress load and metabolic health. Just note that Galaxy Watches work only with Android devices.

The Galaxy Watch8 is a solid all-around pick for anyone who owns a Galaxy phone. It features a bright 1.3-inch AMOLED display and offers Samsung’s latest health, fitness, and safety features, from swimming stroke analysis to daily sleep and energy scores. The battery life is in line with most high-end smartwatches, so expect daily charging.

While this smartwatch was only $279 last week, the price has gone up at all retailers this week. It’s still a decent savings from the list price, and it might go up again after the holiday weekend.

If you want a sleek, do-everything smartwatch that pairs seamlessly with your iPhone, the Apple Watch Series 11 is a great pick (even if the price has gone up by $50 since last week’s big sales). It can do all the basics well, like tracking your sleep, workouts, steps, heart rate, and more. It also offers a few health features that the budget SE 3 doesn’t, such as hypertension monitoring, electrocardiogram readings to detect an irregular heart rhythm, and a blood-oxygen sensor.

Speakers

The JBL Flip 7 is a classic do-it-all speaker. It’s small enough to stuff into a bag, but delivers enough sound to provide background music at a barbecue. It’s IP68 water-resistant and dustproof, and the company claims you can drop it from 1 meter onto a concrete floor and it’ll keep working. Also, according to JBL, it delivers 16 hours of music on a single charge.

If you’re looking for a medium-sized outdoor speaker with volume aplenty and more than adequate bass, the Sony ULT Field 5 is a serious contender—and it’s $60 less than its recent sale price. It has an IP67 rating and features restrained LED lighting effects aimed more at adults seated around a fire pit than kids on a sleepover. Size-wise, it’s perfect for a barbecue or a poolside dance party. It’s a bit big for tossing into a bag for a jaunt to the beach, though. If you want a more portable Sony, try the ULT Field 1, which bears a family resemblance in a smaller and less loud and bassy package.

Soundbars

The Bose Smart Soundbar is a Dolby Atmos model that delivers decent overall sound, making it suitable for both music and movie soundtrack playback for more casual listeners. It’s a full-featured, 3.0.2 nonsurround model that can be expanded into a full 5.1.2-channel surround system. It can also be used as part of a multi-room WiFi audio system. It features Amazon Alexa built-in and works with Google Assistant (via the Google Home app on a mobile device and/or an optional Google smart speaker). It also supports Bluetooth wireless streaming from a portable device.
