We test and evaluate more than our fair share of products here at CR. And more often than not, a few pop up on our radar because of their popularity with our readers.

Unlike fad purchases, these particular items have merit. They’ve either been rigorously tested and approved in our labs or thoroughly vetted in our editors’ homes, where they’ve gone through the rough and tumble of real life.

Ahead are the standout favorites, according to what our readers are buying right now.

The 21-inch Ego LM2123SP-2 battery self-propelled mower ran an average of nearly 2 hours in our tests and needed just an hour to charge. This mower excels in all of our evaluations except bagging, where it still performs capably. Its two supplied batteries come with a three-year warranty. Ego battery self-propelled mowers receive middling predicted reliability scores but get top-notch owner satisfaction scores in our latest member surveys.

The 21-inch Stihl RMA 510 performs nearly as well as battery push mowers that cost hundreds of dollars more. It earns top scores for cutting evenness and mulching. The mower also performs capably at bagging, though its side discharging is just so-so, and it may take longer to charge compared with other battery push mowers. Both the mower warranty and the battery warranty are three years. Stihl battery push mowers earn stellar ratings for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.

This Sainlogic weather station is top-notch for weather tracking. It measures the outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and rainfall with precision, providing a clear and comprehensive picture of current conditions. The indoor display is packed with valuable information, including detailed rainfall totals, temperature and humidity readings, and a 12/24-hour forecast. Additional features include a “feels like” index, a dew point index, a heat index, a wind chill index, moon phase info, a 24-hour history, alerts, and barometric pressure readings.

This weather station also offers WiFi connectivity, letting you monitor conditions at home from across town or across the country, as long as you have access to the internet. The manufacturer claims a wireless transmission range of 330 feet between the outdoor sensor and the indoor display

Lerekam Solar Spot Lights are pricey, but in our tests they earn top marks for light duration and ease of use. They can be angled, installed with included ground spikes, or screwed to other surfaces. They’re rechargeable and boast an on/off button. Each light in the six-pack has 40 LEDs, resulting in intense white light that is great for drawing attention to a water feature or an ornamental tree. However, you can also point them downward to illuminate a path or walkway.

    Amazon Basics Flushable Wipes

    Amazon Basics Flushable Wipes

These Amazon Basics Flushable Wipes cleaned really well, removing sticky honey from our evaluator’s skin with just two passes from one wipe. They also dried easily (without leaving a lingering wet residue behind like some wipes). They come in plastic packaging with a resealable sticker, which can help the wipes retain their moisture better than a wipes package with a clickable lid (which may allow more air in to dry out wipes faster). These wipes are fragrance-free, but we still detected a very light scent. Just don’t flush them! Despite their names, CR does not recommend flushing any wipes, even those that are labeled "flushable."

    Up&Up Lemon Scented Disinfecting Wipes

    Up&Up Lemon Scented Disinfecting Wipes

These wipes from the Target brand Up&Up were a winner right from the start. They were easy to remove from the tube, both when starting a roll and from then on. These wipes had a mild scent, which was a major plus considering how most of the disinfecting wipes smelled (bad).

Our evaluator was able to easily wipe up sriracha and oil from a counter. And jam on a stovetop took two swipes. Up&Up wipes didn’t leave soapy residue behind, although, like all of the disinfecting wipes we tested, they did leave streaks. It’s a reminder that disinfecting wipes aren’t meant for everyday cleaning but are best left for more intense situations where there could be microbial contamination (such as when you drop a piece of raw chicken on your counter while prepping dinner).

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Multi-Surface Concentrate

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Multi-Surface Concentrate

Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Multi-Surface Concentrate is the spring cleaning dynamo that can create enough cleaning fluid for nearly every surface. That said, this is not the multipurpose concentrated cleaner you’re going to rely on for quick, everyday tasks like cleaning kitchen counters—its dilution process requires too much water for that to be realistic. You’ll need a bucket that’s large enough to hold a gallon of warm water to add a quarter-cup of the concentrated cleaner. For tough stains, use the cleaner straight (but never on unsealed hardwood floors and unsealed natural stone) and allow it to sit for a few minutes, then wipe it up.

This was an effortless floor cleaner, and our evaluator loved how her kitchen smelled after using it. It got her kitchen counters and bathroom sink gleaming and was one of the best for mirrors, removing lipstick stains with three wipes and not leaving a single streak behind. This cleaner has a mild, fresh, and clean scent, a blend of oils including lemon peel. (The manufacturer notes that the product does include allergens.)

Amazon Basics may not be a brand name you’re used to seeing among detergents, but its Dishwasher Detergent Pacs do an excellent job cleaning dishes and preventing film and discoloration, which occur when mineral deposits remain on dishes. They also resist water spots, which not all dish detergents do.

The Shark Navigator Professional NV360 is one of the least expensive upright vacuums we’ve tested, and it’s also one of the highest-performing. Its standout feature is that it’s the only bagless upright model to earn a top score in our carpet cleaning tests. It’s equally amazing at picking up stray pet hair and clearing bare floors of debris. The vacuum weighs about 14 pounds and has a detachable pod for more flexible cleaning.

    Health, Sleep, and Travel Staples

The Omron Evolv BP7000 blood pressure monitor earns top marks for accuracy, and our testers found it to be very convenient and comfortable. Unlike many blood pressure models, which consist of a cuff attached via a tube to the electronic monitor, the Evolv is all one piece; the monitor is embedded in the cuff. This could be useful for users who need to keep up their blood pressure monitoring while traveling. This monitor also has plenty of convenient features, including an irregular heartbeat detector, a data averaging function, and the ability to store data for multiple users. If you sync your data via the Omron Connect app, you’ll also have access to a BP risk indicator. One downside is that, because of the device’s structure, if your arm is outside the 9- to 17-inch circumference range, there’s no option to sub in a differently sized cuff.

The Samsonite Outline Pro Carry-On Spinner is the only hard-shell model in our ratings to earn a top mark for usability. It can be expanded, and the handle can be raised to six positions, a boon to travelers of varying heights. This hardy road warrior is also stellar for durability and performs admirably for opening, closing, packing, carrying, and pulling. The Samsonite has a number of valuable features, including a compartment divider, lock, and built-in USB port for connecting power sources (that you provide) to your electronics. The 10-year limited warranty isn’t as long as that for other models, though. And the manufacturer’s listed dimensions of 23x15x10 inches—with telescopic handle stowed—might not meet the carry-on dimension requirements of some domestic airlines.

The Chicco KeyFitKeyFit 30, and KeyFit 35 performed very well in our crash tests. They earned Best, Better, and Better ratings, respectively. Plus, they’re three of the easiest seats to install using a vehicle’s lower anchors or its seat belts. The single-pull lower anchor tightening operation and the easy way the carriers click into the base are just two features that differentiate KeyFit seats from others.

The KeyFit has a 22-pound weight limit. The KeyFit 30 and KeyFit 35 have weight limits of 30 and 35 pounds, which means you may be able to use them a bit longer. The KeyFit and KeyFit 30 are notable for their combination of value and performance.

The scent of lavender has become synonymous with the promotion of relaxation and improved sleep quality. So it’s no wonder that CR senior editor Tanya Christian turns to this relaxing mist to create an ideal environment for a good night’s sleep. “Put me on a bed in a room scented with lavender and 9 times out of 10, I’ll be asleep in record time,” says Christian. “Whether it’s a massage room or the bedroom, lavender helps set the environment for sleep. It has a calming effect that reduces my anxiety and quiets my restlessness.”

    Tech and Large Appliances

This full-sized tower completes tasks with impressive speed, handling even demanding video games with ease. It features an Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of memory, a 1TB solid-state drive, and an Nvidia Geforce RTX 4060 video adapter with 8GB of dedicated video memory. It comes bundled with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately, the price is now $150 higher than it was last week.

The LG LDFC2423V is a solid dishwasher for its price, offering top-class washing performance. It’s one of the most energy-efficient models we’ve tested and has an Energy Star certification. This dishwasher also does really well with noise control. Drying performance after a 150-minute cycle isn’t quite as impressive, but it’s good enough given its relative value. The LG LDFC2423V has an adjustable upper rack, a time-remaining display, a stainless steel interior, and adjustable tines, but you may find it annoying that the filter needs manual cleaning. LG dishwashers garner very good reliability scores and decent owner satisfaction scores among owners surveyed by Consumer Reports.

You can count on our top-rated front-loader, the LG WM4000HWA, to clean like a champ. Similar to the discontinued WM3900HWA, we expect it to demonstrate the same winning trifecta of excellent ratings for washing performance, energy efficiency, and water efficiency of its predecessor while costing hundreds less. Wash time is 85 minutes, relatively speedy for a front-loader. With a claimed capacity of 4.5 cubic feet, it can tackle big loads (even a king-size comforter). The WiFi-enabled washer is also quiet, so you can feel confident about placing it near a living area. (If appearances matter, consider the black steel LG WM4080HBA, a similarly rated machine we expect to perform just as well.) LG front-loaders have great predicted reliability and strong owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys.

The Gerber Viper GWS31502S is a single-flush toilet that aces every category we test, earning excellent scores for solid-waste removal, noise, and bowl cleaning. Its bowl and seat are round in shape, which may be less comfortable but will fit certain spaces better than an elongated bowl.
