CR's Take
Based on the old S70 sedan, the C70 tried to bring a little flash to Volvo's staid lineup, but it didn't catch on very well. Handling is capable but not sporty. The turbocharged five-cylinder engine doesn't feel responsive unless it's revved hard. The lower-horsepower light-pressure turbo has greater torque at lower revs and feels more responsive in everyday driving despite its lower horsepower rating. This is the last year for the C70.
