"The serpentine belt snapped while I was on a trip out of town; I was told after the fact that this was because a pulley froze (AND that my regular service provider, the dealer, should have noticed and addressed this problem during a routine maintenance when I told them I was hearing an odd noise, but they had said there was nothing disturbing. I ended up having to have not only the belt but also some elements of the air conditioning system around which it ran replaced. It was quite expensive, but certainly not as expensive as replacing the vehicle."

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH CRUISE CONTROL AND V6 ENGINES, AND BUILT AT ONE OF TWO LINES AT THE KENTUCKY PLANT. THE ACCELERATOR CABLE HOUSING COULD BE DEFORMED AT THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR-TO-THROTTLE BODY CONNECTION. THE ACCELERATOR INNER-CABLE COULD WEAR AWAY AND EVENTUALLY BREAK.
