CR's Take
The Solara was redesigned in 2004. Based on the Camry, it could pass for a Lexus since its styling is similar to the SC430's, and interior quality is impeccable. The standard engine is a 2.4-liter, 157-hp four-cylinder engine. The optional 3.3-liter, 225-hp V6 is smooth and refined. The V6 is mated to a gearbox that facilitates manual overrides. A convertible model is also available. Three option packages are available with different interior and exterior styling trim.
