""The temp gauge started acting funny (going up and down randomly), and the high temp alarm coming on, but did not throw a code. Mechanic couldn't figure it out, 2nd attempt the car threw a code and now they thought it was the water pump. Replaced the water pump and thermostat, refilled with coolant, but now there was another issue; I could still smell coolant when I drove the car. Re-checked the radiator and there were bubbles coming up through the coolant; diagnosed as a bad head gasket. Needs to be fixed, but the motor has 244k miles on it. Plus, my mechanic is busy (and I don't think they want to deal with it), and I have to decide, fix the old motor or buy a newer used motor and have it installed. Both are going to cost me about $5k, and now I've been without full use of my car for almost a month.""

"The battery died (11.5 years old) and the car wouldn't ruin without it. I looked all around the area, and couldn't find a replacement. I had to order one from the Toyota dealership and it took a month to come in. My car was down that whole time."

""The decorative rubber molding around the windshield broke. Flapping in the wind, it caused quite a bit of a mess to the roof of the car. When I had it inspected I was told that the molding could not be replaced unless I replaced the entire windshield. I made one attempt to repair it myself, them simply removed it. No leaks so far.""
