Reliability

Predicted Reliability

We expect the 2025 Legacy will be more reliable than the average new car. This prediction is based on data from 2023, 2024 and 2025 models.

Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2025 Subaru Legacy owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

What Owners Say

Other/unsure

"needs window wipers on rear window"

Anonymous A., TX (2025 Subaru Legacy Premium Unsure)

"TPS sensor alarms repeatedly"

Anonymous, CO (2025 Subaru Legacy XT 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Tire pressure monitoring system failed."

Anonymous, MI (2025 Subaru Legacy Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

What Owners Say

Squeaks or rattles

"There was rattle coming from the wear window area above the trunk shelf. Tech found the rear deck area dampener loose. Tech removed the rear deck paneling and removed the deck area dampener, applied isolation foam to the dampener and reassembled. No further noise heard."

Anonymous A., AL (2025 Subaru Legacy XT 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Rattling detected in the front driver side door area. Exact location not yet determined. Had door panel replaced but did not fix the issue. Subaru dealer applied sound isolating foam. Noise is more tolerable now but not fixed completely. Noticed the noise 3 months after purchase with 2,000 miles on it at the time. Experience the rattle sound almost every time you drive it. Problem yet to be 100% resolved. Reached out to Subaru of America and they presented me some options that fall under Lemon law."

Anonymous A., AL (2025 Subaru Legacy XT 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

What Owners Say

External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"After a call, it will not go back and play music"

Anonymous, NY (2025 Subaru Legacy XT 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)
