What Owners Say

""In colder weather the converter doesnt work well. It goes into regeneration frequently. The system dumps additional fuel into the engine, which seems like a ridiculous solution to a bad design. Also during regeneration the vehicle must be driven until the process is complete which can take almost an hour""

Anonymous, CA (2021 Ram 2500 SLT 6.7-L 6 Cyl diesel)
Other/unsure

"Battery issues . both corroded and caused the truck to essentially brick and have to be towed."

Anonymous, TN (2021 Ram 2500 Laramie 6.7-L 6 Cyl diesel)

Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

What Owners Say

Transmission rebuild or replacement

""Shortly after starting a vacation of about 3,000 miles, the transmission began very hard shifting while up to or down to 2nd gear. The problem was worse when pulling the 5th wheel trailer. The problem continued during the entire trip. After returning home, the dealer determined a gear package problem which after tear down a determination of the transmission self-destructing. A re-built transmission was installed but without additional fluid capacity or cooling. Not confident in the transmission.""

Anonymous, CA (2021 Ram 2500 SLT 6.7-L 6 Cyl diesel)

Engine Major

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

What Owners Say

Turbo or supercharger

""The DEF system failed after 1200 miles. Since I have owned the vehicle it has spent about 5 months at the dealer with many returns for problems. The DEF/Regeneration system on this truck is very unreliable. I have had 4 RAM 2500, Cummins Diesel trucks, 2 with the DEF system but this has been the only one with problems.""

Anonymous, NM (2021 Ram 2500 SLT 6.7-L 6 Cyl diesel)
