What Owners Say

Android Auto

"Needs to be plugged in and sometimes still needs to be reminded that it's plugged in by selecting other options on either the phone or the cars display."

Anonymous A., MD (2023 Nissan Ariya Platinum Electric)
Display screen freezes up

"The electronics in the car (not the EV parts) are glitchy. System crashes arent a huge problem unless youre relying on gps at the time."

Anonymous, ME (2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve Electric)
Other in-car electronics problem

"The problem started during the test drive and we asked that the alerts be turned off when we bought the car but they were still going off on our drive home. We got rid of the xm subscription hoping that would fix it and they still blare the radio when they go off. After a year of fighting with it Nissan flew in a tech to fix it and he looked at it and we were told there is no fix."

Anonymous, ME (2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve Electric)
Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

Electrical Accessories

What Owners Say

Body control module

"Theres an active recall for the part. The module would fail and cause the 12v to not recharge under certain circumstances. The car would not start if the 12v battery fell below a certain threshold. If the cars high voltage battery was simultaneously below 20%, the car would also not accept a charge at all. The part required replacement, which took about a month. I had to drive another car lent by the dealership while awaiting repair. I experienced an issue with it once, which required the car to be towed to a dealership to reset the EV system and manually recharge the 12v. Once this occurred, we could start the case and charge the high voltage battery as well. Later in the year, the part was recalled and replaced under warranty- though it took a long time due to the part being on back order."

Anonymous, CO (2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve Electric)
Exterior lights (other than headlights)

"Left front LED turn signal failed. Replaced at no cost under warranty."

Anonymous, FL (2023 Nissan Ariya Engage Electric)

Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

What Owners Say

Loose exterior trim or moldings

"Trim on passenger back areas where replaced by dealership BUT I had to pay for one they refused to cover"

Anonymous A., NC (2023 Nissan Ariya Platinum Electric)

Electric Motor

Electric drive failure, replacement or malfunction.

What Owners Say

Electric drive motor failure - replacement

""I noticed a warning light and EV system error message pop up when backing out of the driveway one day. The car still drove ok, and the message would come and go. Took the car to the dealer and at first it didn't do it there. But the error kept popping up so the dealer called the technical assistance line to get help. They recommended a complete traction motor replacement. Took about 30 days and would have cost $10,000 if not covered under warranty. Really diminished my enthusiasm for the car.""

Anonymous A., OH (2023 Nissan Ariya Empower Electric)
