Road Test

A breakthrough design when it came out in 1997, at this point the M-Class SUV had been surpassed by several newer competitors. Still, the interior is comfortable and roomy. Both the V6 and V8 are powerful engines and handling is secure. But in ride comfort, interior noise, and the placement of some controls, the M-Class was showing its age. Reliability was a sore spot from day-one.
