Repair was covered under warrenty. Car also has a problem in that going uphill with electric motor, sometimes the gas engine doesn't kick in when more power is needed.""

The make the matter worse, when I charge the car in my garage, I have to drag the charging cable from the left garage wall (where my charger is located) to the right rear corner of the car (where the charging port is located. About 10-15% of the time, if the cable goes along the floor under the rear bumper, the car senses it and it opens the rear hatch! "The tailgate won't raise all the way. It stops about 4" short and I have hit my head on it no less than 300 times. I would literally not purchase this vehicle on this issue alone. I have checked other Mazda models with lift gates and they don't do this. Mazda service says there is no fix."
