Road Test

The Mazda5 provides most of the versatility of a minivan in a compact, maneuverable and affordable package. Handling is sporty and agile, ride is comfortable, the powertrain is fairly refined and gas mileage is respectable. Overall fuel economy is 24 mpg. However, road noise is pronounced and power for merging or climbing hills falls a bit short. Now offered with standard ESC, emergency handling is even more secure.
