CR's Take
This luxury SUV is redesigned for 2008 and is based on the newly redesigned Toyota Land Cruiser. The Land Cruiser has the strong 5.7-liter V8 from the Tundra pickup, a comfortable ride, and a quiet, nicely appointed cabin. Added Lexus features include a height-adjustable suspension. Like the Toyota, the LX has an off-road crawl mode for travel over tough terrain. A power-folding third-row seat is new, but it folds up to the sides of the interior, limiting cargo space.
