CR's Take
The Range Rover comes with a host of high-end amenities and safety features. Developed by former corporate owner BMW, it delivers smooth, strong acceleration, refinement, and a very comfortable ride, although handling isn't quite BMW-agile. Even though it uses unibody construction with a fully independent suspension, it remains good off-road. The seats are very comfortable, and the wood and leather interior is tasteful. A recent freshening included replacing the BMW V8 engine with a Jaguar-derived V8.
