CR's Take
This luxury SUV is aimed at people whose idea of roughing it includes style, comfort, and Old World English ambience. It comes with lots of luxury amenities, as well as a permanent four-wheel-drive system. The Range Rover also features air suspension, which can lower the body when parked to make getting in and out easier; once you're under way, it automatically rises again. The system also includes two higher-riding modes for off-roading. The ride is relatively civilized but not as good as that of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class or Toyota Land Cruiser. Acceleration with the smaller V8 is leisurely.
