In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

What Owners Say

Apple CarPlay

"This is my 3rd pilot since 2020 and all have had issues with the infotainment system. 2020 had to replace it 3 times. The second two it intermitently losing carplay if I do anything on my phone or an app engages"

Anonymous A., (2025 Honda Pilot Elite 3.5-L V6)
Backup or other camera/sensors

"When first starting the car, the backup camera would only display a message that it was unable to operate. The issue was inconsistent, and when it did occur, it would last between five and sixty minutes. It probably occurred all the time for the first couple of months, but then it gradually decreased, and now it only occurs a few times a week."

Anonymous A., NY (2025 Honda Pilot Elite 3.5-L V6)

Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"my 2024 and 2025 pilots both had an issue where car play is on and then pull anything up on my phone or if I got an app notice it would stop playing radio or otherwise so basically I cant be on my phone except to answer a call"

Anonymous A., (2025 Honda Pilot Elite 3.5-L V6)

""HVAC system rattled when cold. Had the same issue with the 2024 model that I traded in. My local dealer was awesome in finally locating and repairing the problem. A riser in the venting was not attached and was rattling. I was told this was a design, flaw, and feedback has been sent to Honda remedy""

"The ventilation fan has a squeal"

Anonymous, NJ (2025 Honda Pilot Touring 3.5-L V6)

Transmission Minor

Anonymous, PA (2025 Honda Pilot Touring 3.5-L V6)

Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

What Owners Say

Transmission rebuild or replacement

"Leaked fluid at 3000 mile and had to be replaced"

Anonymous, VA (2025 Honda Pilot Elite 3.5-L V6)

Drive System

Driveshaft or axle, CV joint, differential, transfer case, four-wheel-drive/all-wheel-drive components, driveline vibration, electrical failure, traction control, electronic stability control.

What Owners Say

Other driveline problem

""The vehicle makes a clicking noise when turning the steering wheel as if two metal pieces are rubbing against eachother. The dealer noticed no issue when taken and they only lubricated all areas they could. Noise was gone but came back after a while. In several post online, people say they had the same issue and it was the clock spring or the steering rack. While the issue seems mild as of now, my concern is that this seems like a common issue with a lot of the Pilot trims, yet no official recall from Honda. Lastly, I have driven the Pilot in hot (90F+) and cold (30F-) weather and have noticed that the sound disappears in cold weather which prompts me to believe that the noise is more noticible in hot wather due to maybe the heat expanding sone components of the car (wild guess/theory).""

Anonymous, FL (2025 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)

Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

What Owners Say

Other/unsure

"Everything is fine except when parked or locked the outside mirrors have to be reset again before driving. I have not gone back to the dealer to find out if there is a software update to resolve."

Anonymous, WA (2025 Honda Pilot Elite 3.5-L V6)

What Owners Say

""Spits out "brake" alarms for no reason causing the car to slow down sharply, enough to cause driver and passenger forward movement.""
