CR's Take
The Yukon, twin to the Chevrolet Tahoe, has a compliant ride, good interior quality, and comfortable seats. Towing capability is impressive, but the 5.3-liter V8 is unrefined. There is little cargo room behind the tiny third-row seat, which doesn't fold into the floor. Four-wheel-drive versions have a selectable full-time system. Handling and braking are only so-so. The six-speed automatic slightly improved fuel economy and acceleration. A redesign with a more efficient powertrain, and more new safety features, is due in early 2014.
