Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2023 Genesis G70 owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

What Owners Say

Exterior lights (other than headlights)

""Left, rear taillight stopped working (brake and turn signal)""

Anonymous, NC (2023 Genesis G70 3.3T 3.3-L V6 turbo)
Headlights

""The headlights are prone to fogging and condensation. The first time, it got bad enough that the blinker was malfunctioning and the dashboard alerted me to an issue. I have had both front headlights replaced for this defect and one of them is exhibiting this problem again. I have noticed this issue on other genesis models and I believe it to be a common problem - so much so it deserves a recall.""

Anonymous A., IL (2023 Genesis G70 3.3T 3.3-L V6 turbo)

"Both headlights, at different times in the last 12 months, had issues with excessive condensation build up inside the headlights. Both headlights were replaced, at different times, under warranty due to the excessive condensation that was building up inside the headlight."

Anonymous, TX (2023 Genesis G70 2.0T 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

What Owners Say

Door handle

"Door handle trim fell off. Dealer unable to match paint on replacement."

Anonymous, AB (2023 Genesis G70 3.3T 3.3-L V6 turbo)
Mirrors

""The vehicle has folding mirrors that activate on lock and unlock. The passenger side mirror has been operating intermittently, frequently failing to unfold during unlock. I find this to be a safety issue because when the problem first started happening, it was not part of my usual check of the vehicle before driving to see if it was safe. Then, I'd be trying to merge in traffic and discover I could see the right side of the vehicle. This has been to the dealer for a warranty repair, but they weren't able to recreate it and thus is still a problem. I've since disabled the auto folding feature.""

Anonymous, IL (2023 Genesis G70 2.0T 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Engine Electrical

Alternator, starter, hybrid battery replacement, hybrid battery related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, spark plugs and wires failure, auto stop/start.

What Owners Say

Electronic ignition

""The vehicle has a push-button ignition. Intermittently, it will take up to 10 seconds to "turn over". In tracking the issue it has not been related to temperature, parking indoors or outdoors, nor is it related to when the vehicle was last started. It can happen if the car was just on 5 minutes ago, the previous day, but surprisingly has not happened when the vehicle sits for 5 or more days. This was brought to the attention of the dealer under warranty and they were unable to recreate and thus have not offered a fix. They're requiring me to show proof by video recording the car starting every time.... which is a huge inconvenience.""

Anonymous, IL (2023 Genesis G70 2.0T 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
Other engine starting/ignition problem

"If you start driving the car within 30 seconds of starting, he can feel hesitation or the engine wants to stall. Took it to the dealer, they said nothing wrong. Eventually there was a software recall for this problem. It worked for several weeks and the problem returned. If you let the car idles for like 2 minutes or longer ( remote start) the problem does not exist. Furthermore, I have been issued an extended 3 year warranty on on the fuel pump probably due to this issue. Since its a lease it will be someone else's problem."

Anonymous, FL (2023 Genesis G70 2.0T 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

What Owners Say

"The rubber gasket around the drivers door window was misshapen and replaced under warranty."

Anonymous, FL (2023 Genesis G70 3.3T 3.3-L V6 turbo)
