In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

What Owners Say

Apple CarPlay

""Multiple times my iPhone & Mach E simply do not connect. Forcing forgetting one or the other will temporarily correct, but fix often reoccurs.""

Anonymous, MI (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select Electric)

"Sometimes sound cuts out and there is no way to make phone calls. Sometimes sound commands do not work. The entire system is unpredictable and it cannot be corrected by Ford"

Anonymous, CA (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Unsure Electric)

"Sometimes CarPlay wont connect. Have to reboot car to get it to connect."

Anonymous, TX (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Electric)
Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"Phone will not pair up with car intermittantly. Frustrating"

Anonymous, CA (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Unsure Electric)

"iPhone & Mach E simply don't connect reliably. Arrggh!"

Anonymous, MI (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select Electric)

Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

What Owners Say

12V battery

"There was an over the air update by Ford that caused the 12V battery to drain completely. There has since been a recall and they are fixing the issue. At this time, we are still waiting to be reimbursed for the $400 the dealership charged us before the recall"

Anonymous, FL (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select Electric)
Keyless entry

"There are times when I push the button to open the door and I can hear it making the noise but nothing happens and I cannot enter. It is most distressing when I finish buckling my kids in and then go to get in - they're stuck in a hot car until I can get in and get the car started. After asking the dealership about this for 3 years (and being told they can't replicate the issue, therefore can't fix anything), there's finally a recall for this issue."

Anonymous A., WA (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Electric)

"Car does not always sense my iPhone or key fab when attempting to open door. Door buttons on car are ridiculous. Sometimes have to press button multiple times to get the door to open."

Anonymous, KS (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Electric)
Other electrical system problem

"Twice now, we have forget to turn off regenerative breaking before coming down the pass. The next day, the car either was in "limp" mode or would not drive. I think they called the part the high voltage battery junction box. Our local Ford dealership seemingly only has one certified person for electric vehicles, so it took several weeks to get fixed (thankfully, both times it's been under warranty, but if it hadn't been, they estimated $2,500). Ford did give us a complementary tow there and offered an extended warranty."

Anonymous A., WA (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Electric)

EV Battery

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.

What Owners Say

Electric/hybrid battery pack malfunction (didn't need replacement)

"3 dealers has checked the same error code (safety recall). They replace always the high voltage junction switch 8 times but the problem reappear after 2 week. Difficult to escalade the fix but eventually talking to ford to open a case and eventually after 3 times finally fix it."

Anonymous A., QC (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Electric)

"Hig voltage wiring problems"

Anonymous, CA (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Electric)
Electric/hybrid battery pack replacement

"Battery failed after a few minor problems with charging and needing to replace the 12 volt battery. Ford replaced the battery under warranty and covered my towing and rental car costs for the two week period before they could get it in the shop due to a shartage of trained technicians. Once in, it went quickly."

Anonymous A., VT (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Electric)

Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

What Owners Say

Premature brake wear

"With only 30000 miles, the rear brakes were making a loud scraping noise. Found that, despite there being a lot of remaining useful pad, the pads and disks were heavily scored and needed replacement."

Anonymous, (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Electric)

Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

What Owners Say

Air or water leaks

"When opening rear hatch, water drips from the interior seams of the handle, lights, and trunk closure buttons, dripping water on groceries etc. It started soon after purchasing the vehicle, usually after it rains. The Ford dealership is unable to observe the problem so they say they cant correct this problem without seeing it happen. It has not been corrected."

Anonymous, NY (2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select Electric)
