Talking Cars 500: 2026 New York Auto Show Highlights
Podcast filmed in NYC covers the latest new cars, including the Jeep Recon, Kia Seltos and EV3, Subaru Uncharted EV, Volkswagen Atlas, and more
Main theme: Hold on: Is this really the 500th episode of the Talking Cars podcast?! Holy cow.
Since 2013, Consumer Reports has been producing the Talking Cars video podcast featuring CR’s car experts discussing new-model vehicles being tested at CR’s Auto Test Center, the latest automotive news and developments, and as answering viewers’ questions.
Over the years and hundreds of episodes, it’s been a labor of love to bring stories and insights about the majority of the cars, SUVs, and trucks sold in the U.S. Well, since we get super excited about the subject matter, it’s been more love than labor.
The podcast crew filmed this episode on the floor at the 2026 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). And as a reminder, the NYIAS has been around much longer than Talking Cars. This annual event is the country’s oldest and largest-attended auto show, originally debuting in 1900.
Getting the chance to see and touch new models gives the CR testing crew a leg up on planning the upcoming year’s testing program. We’re always thrilled to be in the Big Apple for the latest unveilings.
Highlights for this year include the Jeep Recon, Kia Seltos and EV3, Subaru Getaway EV, and Volkswagen Atlas, plus the Chevrolet Traverse mobility concept, Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak, Genesis G90 Wingback, and Hyundai Boulder.
