Chevrolet Silverado 1500

"The transmission shifts rough. I have had to replace the torque converter at 25000 miles. I recently had the transmission regulator replaced at 74000. The trick has never had a smooth transmission. A total disappointment. I will not buy another Chevrolet."

"Passenger side front seat belt continuously retracts. It pins you to the seat and must be unbuckled to free yourself. You can not pull it out. Even when you gently and slowly pull it out, lay across your body, and buckle it, the belt retracts and locks so you can not pull it out, not even if you are gentle. Unbuckling while traveling at highways speeds is dangerous, but we have to in order to be able to move, i.e. lean to adjust radio. It makes you feel trapped and rubs on our necks. Dealer says it is functioning as designed and can not change it. The only way to avoid this it to hold the belt or place a clamp on it to prevent it from retracting until you are pinned. On short drives holding it is do able, but for a 3 hour drive . Using a clamp or placing something behind it to block it is dangerous and prevents belt from proper function in an accident."

"Experienced a "thumping" noise at take off from a stopped position. According to dealership, this was repaired by torquing bolts to spec. Why were they loose?"

"Truck is currently being repaired for a pressurized fuel nozzle that will cost $1200 to replace. According to GM the unit is "not covered under warranty since it is not an internal engine assembly". Truck only has 57,000 on it and this is the 3rd emission related failure."
