CR's Take
The Blazer and similar GMC Jimmy trail the competition in nearly everything. Cumbersome and poor emergency handling with Chevy's ZW7 suspension, so-so ride, and poor fit and finish are major problems. The V6 feels lively, but fuel economy is poor. The front seats are comfortable, but rear toe space is tight. Four-wheel-drive options include a part-time system and a selectable full-time system that works as needed. Both received a "Poor" rating in an insurance-industry offset crash test.
