""We began getting an error message upon start-up indicating there was some issue, but the message would disappear quickly. After leaving the car parked for about two weeks at the airport, we returned from a trip and upon starting the car, got a red warning indicator saying STOP! DO NOT DRIVE! Powertrain issue! Call for service. We had to have the car transported to the dealership in San Francisco. The dealership ran diagnostics, but had to send the information to BMW's regional headquarters in New Jersey, then on to Europe to determine the issue. Turns out, the 12-volt battery had discharged and had to be replaced. After being replaced, no further issues.""
