Our testers bake hundreds of cakes and thousands of cookies every year to determine how well electric wall ovens perform. Then, to see how the appliances hold up over time, our survey team asks thousands of CR members to provide details about their own experiences.

More on Wall Ovens, Cooktops, and Ranges

For our current ratings, we heard from members about their experiences with 14,594 electric wall ovens purchased between 2016 and 2026, and used the data to calculate predicted reliability and owner satisfaction ratings.

Predicted reliability reflects the likelihood that models from a given brand will develop problems or break within the first five years. Owner satisfaction reflects the percentage of members who say they would recommend their wall oven to a friend or family member.

Our survey found considerable differences in predicted reliability among brands and in owner satisfaction. And topping the charts are brands from a mix of mainstream and pro-style brands.
